    Carlos Arauz-Pacheco

    MD, Fellow of the American College of Endocrinologists

     

     

    Biography

    Dr. Arauz-Pacheco is highly regarded by his patients and peers. He has over 30 years of experience in both clinical practice and research. He earned his Medical Degree and Residency from the University of Costa Rica. He completed his Fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 1992. He was an Assistant Professor at U.T. Southwestern Medical School between 1994 and 1996 and a Clinical Instructor between 1996 and 2010.
     
    Accomplished in the field of research, he has been clinical investigator in multiple studies in the areas of Diabetes Treatment, Hypertension, Lipid Disorders, Obesity, Cardiovascular Disease, and Diabetic Kidney Disease treatment.  In 1995, he earned a Young Investigator Award of the American Heart Association. He is a published author, having published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. Dr. Arauz-Pacheco is a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinologists and a member of the Endocrine Society and the American Diabetes Association among others.

    Biography

    Dan Lender, M.D. practices at Diabetes & Endocrinology Clinical Consultants of Texas.  Services Include  Type 1, Type 2, gestational or pre-diabetes, blood sugar monitoring and managing medications, nutritional counseling.

    Pauline Hender Pagel

    RN, MSN, FNP-C

     

    Biography

    Polly Hendler Pagel received her Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing in 1991 from Texas Woman’s University. She completed the Critical care/Trauma Nurse Internship at Parkland Memorial Hospital and worked in both the Emergency Room and Medical/Pulmonary Intensive Care Unit.

    She received her Matser’s in Science in Nursing from Texas A&M University in 1994 and became a Family Nurse Practitioner. She has been practicing as a Nurse Practitioner for 28 years, and has specialized in the care of patients with Diabetes for more than 20 years.  Her experience includes Primary Care, Diabetes Care at Parkland Diabetes Clinic, and as an In-Patient Consultant for those admitted to Parkland with Diabetes issues. She has worked with Dr. Arauz-Pacheco and Dr. Dan Lender for more than five years.

    Polly has lived most of her life in Dallas and enjoys gardening and traveling in her motor home with her husband and son.
